Bugs Found in Dragon Farm: Island Adventure for iOS
Dragon Farm: Island Adventure is an enjoyable, family-friendly adventure game that lets players explore beautiful tropical islands and even discover a dragon. Play as a young archaeologist on the search for her father and meet various fascinating characters.
Game features include various farming and cooking games, as well as unique quests to keep players interested. The world of the game is vast, so players will have plenty of locations, objects, and recipes to explore.
QAwerk testers played the game as part of our bug crawl and found some issues. While not critical to game progression, some of these have a huge impact on user experience. Read our report below to understand these issues and how to resolve them.
Tooltip blocks interaction with most of UI, limiting user actions only to highlighted elements
Critical
The user is going through the tutorial flow.
- Launch the app.
- Start the tutorial.
- Wait for the tooltip to appear.
- Try interacting with UI elements outside the highlighted area.
OS: iOS 18.4.1
Device: iPhone 12
The user is unable to interact with the majority of the User Interface (UI). Only the highlighted element is clickable, while all other elements are unresponsive.
The tooltip’s role should be to guide the user, not to completely restrict interaction with unrelated UI elements. If certain elements are to be restricted, the user should be clearly informed through appropriate User Experience (UX) cues.
‘Settings’ section inaccessible during tutorial
Major
The user is going through the tutorial flow.
- Launch the app.
- Start the tutorial.
- Attempt to open the ‘Settings’ section.
OS: iOS 18.4.1
Device: iPhone 12
The user is unable to open the ‘Settings’ section while navigating through the tutorial.
The user should either be given access to the ‘Settings’ section at all times, or it should be clearly communicated and visibly restricted with appropriate messaging or a disabled state.
‘Settings’ bottom buttons do not reflect interaction (no visual or functional feedback)
Major
The user opens the ‘Settings’ screen.
- Open the ‘Settings’ screen.
- Tap the bottom buttons (Sound / Vibrations / other toggles).
OS: iOS 18.4.1
Device: iPhone 12
The buttons do not show any visual changes or feedback after being tapped. There is no clear indication whether the action has been applied.
The buttons should provide clear visual feedback (such as toggle state, highlight, animation) and reflect the changes made.
I discovered several issues while testing the Dragon Farm app. The most critical problem concerns tooltip behavior, which restricts user interaction throughout most of the interface and can block onboarding progress. To ensure the app's stability and usability, I recommend conducting comprehensive testing across various user flows, with a particular focus on onboarding, UI responsiveness, and interaction feedback. Cross-device and cross-configuration validation is also advised to ensure consistent behavior.
