Game fails to initiate loading on first launch despite stable internet connection

Severity:

Major

Precondition:
  1. The game is installed on the device, and a stable internet connection is available.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Launch the game.
  2. Observe the loading process.
  3. Force-close the application if loading does not start.
  4. Relaunch the game several times.
Environment:
  • OS: iOS 18.4.1
  • Device: iPhone 12
Actual Result:

The game fails to start loading despite a stable internet connection. The user must force-close and relaunch the application multiple times before loading eventually begins.

Expected Result:

The game should start loading on the first launch when a stable internet connection is available, without requiring multiple restarts.

Gameplay session is not resumed after restoring internet connection and reloading

Severity:

Minor

Precondition:
  1. The user has launched the game and started an active gameplay session with a stable internet connection.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Launch the game and start a gameplay session.
  2. Perform several in-game actions.
  3. Disable the internet connection during gameplay.
  4. Wait until a network-related error appears.
  5. Restore the internet connection.
  6. Tap the Reload button.
Environment:
  • OS: iOS 18.4.1
  • Device: iPhone 12
Actual Result:

The game redirects the user to the main screen instead of resuming the interrupted gameplay session. Although the gameplay progress is preserved, the user must manually restart the session to continue playing.

Expected Result:

After connectivity is restored and the user taps Reload, the game should resume the interrupted gameplay session from the point where the internet connection was lost.

Generic error message is displayed instead of network-specific error when internet connection is lost during loading

Severity:

Minor

Precondition:
  1. The device has an active internet connection, and the game is installed.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Launch the game.
  2. Wait until the gameplay session starts loading.
  3. Disable the internet connection during loading.
  4. Observe the displayed error message.
Environment:
  • OS: iOS 18.4.1
  • Device: iPhone 12
Actual Result:

The game displays a generic ‘Something went wrong’ error message without indicating that the issue is caused by the lost internet connection. As a result, the user is not clearly informed why the loading failed.

Expected Result:

The game should display a clear, network-specific error message informing the user that the internet connection has been lost and providing an option to retry loading once connectivity is restored.

During testing of World of Airports, I identified several issues related to application startup, network connectivity, and session recovery. The most significant issue is that the app fails to start loading despite a stable internet connection, requiring multiple restarts before users can access gameplay. Additionally, network error handling could be improved by replacing generic error notifications with clear, connectivity-specific messages that help users understand the issue and take appropriate action.
