Bugs Found in Transcribe Speech to Text – AI for iOS
AI Transcribe Speech to Text is a highly useful application with strong core functionality. The app offers high-quality transcription services that convert speech into text. Designed for modern users who require quick, efficient transcription for notes and meetings, this tool delivers solid performance.
The app features specialized modes, such as Medical or Legal consultations, that further refine the results and therefore increase its value as a productivity tool.
The QAwerk team embarked on a bug crawl of this application, uncovering several bugsranging from critical (unresponsive buttons) to minor (overlapping text). See our findings along with a QA engineer’s comments on how to improve the app, below.
Unresponsive ‘Rate Us on App Store’ button

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch the app.
- Navigate to the ‘Settings’ tab.
- Tap the ‘Rate Us on App Store’ button.
Environment:
iPhone 14 Pro, iOS version 26.2.1
Actual Result:
The ‘Rate Us on App Store’ button does not respond.
Expected Result:
The user should be redirected to the App Store to rate the app.
‘An unknown error occurred’ error message is displayed when attempting to download audio from web

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch the app.
- Navigate to the ‘Record’ tab.
- Tap the ‘Import Audio’ button.
- Enter the URL of any audio from the provided sources, e.g. Youtube.
- Tap the ‘Download’ button.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS version 18.6.2
Actual Result:
The ‘An unknown error occurred’ error message is displayed.
Expected Result:
The user should be able to successfully import audio from the listed sources.
Menu item remains open after switching between tabs in app

Steps to Reproduce:
- Navigate to the ‘Settings’ tab.
- Select the ‘Meetings Reminder’ or ‘Terms and Conditions’ menu item.
- Switch to the ‘Record’ tab.
- Switch back to the ‘Settings’ tab.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS version 18.6.2
Actual Result:
The menu item remains open.
Expected Result:
The opened menu item should automatically close when switching tabs.
Tags pop-up displays corrupted title

Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a new recording on the ‘Record’ tab.
- Navigate to the ‘Recordings’ tab.
- Open the recording.
- Click on the ‘Tags’ icon in the top right corner.

Actual Result:
The pop-up title displays as ‘T…’.
Expected Result:
The pop-up should display the full, correct title.

- Navigate to the ‘Record’ tab.
- Observe the content on the screen.

Actual Result:
The text ‘With just a couple of clicks. Give it a try’ is overlapped and difficult to read.
Expected Result:
The text should be fully visible. It should also be presented in a contrasting color to the background for better readability.
The application demonstrates strong core functionality, but I discovered a few issues identified during audio import. In several cases, importing audio files did not work as expected, which may block users from fully utilizing the app’s transcription capabilities. This area requires additional attention to improve stability and reliability.
