Weapons, armor, and gear are all within your power to make, and then the RPG component kicks in, and you take your well-equipped hero on an adventure, defeating enemies and obtaining more materials for new crafts.

The QAwerk team had lots of fun testing Idle Craft Odyssey, and we enjoyed the gameplay and core mechanics, which worked quite well. However, we did discover a few bugs that impact the overall user experience. Let’s dive into them to see how a good mobile game can become great.

No tutorial is provided for first-time users

Severity:

Major

Precondition:

The user launched the game for the first time.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Install and launch the game for the first time.
  2. Observe the onboarding experience.
Environment:

OS: iOS 18.4.1
Device: iPhone 12

Actual Result:

The game immediately starts without providing any tutorial or guidance. New users receive no explanation of the gameplay mechanics, objectives, or controls.

Expected Result:

A brief tutorial or onboarding flow should introduce the core gameplay mechanics, explain the objective of the game, and help new users understand how to progress.

During the exploratory testing, I found several usability and functional issues related to onboarding, information dialogs, and offline behavior. While the core gameplay appears stable, improving the first-time user experience and handling UI states more consistently would significantly enhance overall player experience and reduce potential user confusion.
