QAwerk’s bug crawl turned up an array of issues in everyday flows—search failures, image glitches, content mismatches, and broken purchase or navigation features. These findings highlight real-world pain points users encounter in the app, and addressing them will significantly contribute to keeping shoppers happy. Error when going to Item page

Severity:

Precondition:

Log in to the account.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Click on the search field.
  2. Type “Test”.
  3. Click on the search icon.
  4. In the item block, click on the first result.

Search result for recommendations does not update automatically

Add one cartoon and any movie to one of your lists.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. In the bottom menu, click on the profile icon.
  2. Click on your list.
  3. Expand the movie description.
  4. Click on the “More movies like this” button.
  5. Click on the back button.
  6. Expand the cartoon description.
  7. Click on the “More movies like this” button.

Actual Result:

The search result for recommendations does not update automatically.

Search results for recommendations should update automatically.

Search API JSON Parsing Error

Severity:

Precondition:
  1. Log in to the account.
  2. Add multiple movies to one of your lists.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. In the bottom menu, click on the profile icon.
  2. Click on your list.
  3. Expand the movie description.
  4. Click on the “More movies like this” button.
Environment:

Actual Result:

When attempting to use the search feature, the app fails with the error: “Unexpected JSON token at offset 509”.

Expected Result:

The search API should return valid JSON data without parsing errors. Users should see relevant search results after querying.

Restore Purchases shows false success confetti for non-existent subscription

Severity:

Major

Precondition:

Log in to the account.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. In the bottom menu, click on the profile icon.
  2. Click on the “Try Ultra” button.
  3. Click on the “Restore Purchase” button.
Environment:

Actual Result:

When clicking “Restore Purchase”, the app displays a success confetti banner. However, no actual subscription exists to restore.

Expected Result:

If no subscription is found to restore: Show an appropriate error message (e.g., “No previous purchases found”). Do not display success confetti. Success confetti should only appear after restoring a valid purchase.

Inappropriate content displayed in kids' cartoon search results

Precondition:

Log in to the account.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Click on the “Ask a Hypelist ” button in the bottom menu.
  2. Click on the chat box.
  3. Type “recommend some cartoons with good music”.
  4. Click on the send button.
  5. Expand the description of “Moana”.

Actual Result:

When searching for Cartoons, the list includes “Moana” (expected to be the Disney cartoon). Upon expanding the result, it shows an adult film with the same title (unrelated to the children’s cartoon).

Expected Result:

Search results for Cartoons should only include actual animated films/cartoons. If “Moana” appears, it must be the Disney animated movie (2016).

Map results fail to load on first visit

Precondition:
  1. Log in to the account.
  2. Give the app access to your geolocation.
  3. Turn on geolocation on your phone.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. On the main page, click on the map.
  2. Click on the back button.
  3. Click on the map again.

When clicking on the TikTok button, TikTok doesn't open

Precondition:
  1. You must have the TikTok app installed on your phone.
  2. Log in to the TikTok account.
  3. Log in to the Hypelist account.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Click on the profile icon in the bottom menu.
  2. Click on the “Edit Profile” button.
  3. In the TikTok field, enter your TikTok username.
  4. Click on the “Save” button.
  5. In your profile, click on the TikTok button.

Expandable recommendation details contain non-functional navigation arrows

Text cursor resets to end when modifying

  1. Click on the profile icon in the bottom menu.
  2. Click on the “Edit Profile” button.
  3. Click on the Bio field.
  4. Enter text with several words.
  5. Click in the middle of the text.
  6. Enter any character.

Actual Result:

When clicking mid-text to edit bio: After typing 1 character, the cursor automatically jumps to the end.

Expected Result:

Unable to add images to your list

  1. In the bottom menu, click on the profile icon.
  2. Click on your list.
  3. Click on the field with the name of the list.
  4. Click on the button to add an image.

Infinite loading when saving items to list (items actually save)

  3. Click on the search icon.
  4. Click on the first item.
  5. Click on the “Save” button.
  6. Click on your list.
  7. Click on a category.

  9. Wait 10-20 seconds.
  10. Click the back button.
  11. Click on the “Save” button.

Infinite loading when saving items to the list (items actually saved). Clicking “Save” shows an infinite loading spinner. Every click creates duplicate items in the list.

Loading should complete after a successful save.
