Bugs found in Fynder AI – Search Anything for Android
Fynder AI is a powerful search app for web and mobile, delivering precise results across all formats using advanced artificial intelligence. With features like voice search, image analysis, and an adaptive AI mode, it streamlines finding information tailored to each user.
QAwerk performed a Bug Crawl to evaluate core functions and the user interface on Android. Our testing uncovered several bugs affecting usability, profile access, dropdown behavior, and visual consistency.
Below are concise findings from our analysis, highlighting each issue and offering actionable insights to enhance Fynder AI’s user experience further.
Profile entry button not displayed for users with long names
Critical
Install the application.
- Create a new account using a particularly long name (ex., a ‘Lorem Ipsum’ string).
- Tap on the menu button.
Poco F4, Android 13
The user’s extraordinarily long name extends beyond the menu boundaries, subsequently rendering the profile settings button (or profile entry point) invisible and inaccessible.
Regardless of the length of the user’s name, it should either be truncated or adapted to fit within the designated menu boundaries, hence ensuring the constant visibility and accessibility of the profile settings button.
Country dropdown menu closes unexpectedly while attempting to scroll down page
Major
Download and install the application.
- Open the main menu.
- Tap on the three dots located next to the user’s name.
- Choose “Update Profile” from the options.
- Tap on the “Country” dropdown menu.
- Notice the list elements are hidden beneath the virtual keyboard.
- Try to scroll the page down.
Poco F4, Android 13
When attempting to scroll down the page with the “Country” dropdown menu open and its list elements hidden behind the keyboard, the menu abruptly closes.
The “Country” dropdown menu should remain open, allowing users to scroll down the page and select an option, even with the virtual keyboard on screen. The menu should only close once a user makes a selection or performs an explicit action, such as tapping outside the dropdown menu.
Query Limit Counter Incorrectly Shows Exceeded Value After Standard Search
Major
Ensure the app is installed and the query limit is initially configured to a standard value (for instance, 15 queries).
- Choose one of the example queries in the chat (for instance, ‘Find cars in London’).
- Wait for the system to generate a response.
- Go to the main menu.
- Tap on the three dots located next to the user’s name.
Poco F4, Android 13
The ‘Query Limit’ incorrectly shows ’29/15′, indicating a number of remaining queries that surpasses the maximum limit.
The ‘Query Limit’ should accurately display the remaining queries, which should be based on the initial limit minus the number of queries already used (for instance, ’14/15′ after one query).
State dropdown closes unexpectedly when scrolling on page
Major
The app must be installed.
- Open the main menu.
- Tap the three dots adjacent to the user’s name.
- Select ‘Update Profile’.
- Click on the State dropdown.
- Observe that the elements listed are hidden behind the virtual keyboard.
- Try to scroll down the page.
Poco F4, Android 13
When trying to scroll down the page with the State dropdown open, and its elements obscured by the keyboard, the dropdown closes immediately.
Even with the virtual keyboard displayed, the state dropdown should remain open, allowing the user to scroll the page and select an option. The dropdown should only close upon making a selection or through explicit user action, such as clicking outside of the dropdown.
Overflow of User's Name in User Settings Menu
Minor
The app must have been installed.
- Launch the application.
- Open the main menu.
- Tap the three dots positioned next to the user’s name.
- Select “Update Profile.”
- Input a significantly lengthy text (e.g., 5 paragraphs of Lorem Ipsum) into the ‘User Name’ field.
- Save the updated profile.
- Navigate back to the main menu.
Poco F4, Android 13
The user’s name overflows the boundaries of the user settings menu.
Irrespective of the length, the user’s name should be properly truncated, wrapped, or adjusted to fit within the visible area of the user settings menu, without any evidence of overflow.
Inconsistency in Theme Selection with Date Picker
Minor
The application needs to be installed, with the ‘Dark Theme’ setting applied.
- Open the main application menu.
- Click on the three dots located next to the user’s name.
- Click on ‘Update Profile’.
- Click on the ‘Date of Birth’ field.
Poco F4, Android 13
Despite the dark theme being selected within the application settings, the date picker is displayed with a white (light-themed) background, contrasting with the overall dark theme.
To maintain visual consistency throughout the application, the date picker should also display in the selected dark theme, featuring dark backgrounds and light text/elements.
Pasted Text Partially Visible in State and City Input Fields
Minor
The application must be installed.
- Open the main menu.
- Tap the three dots located next to the user’s name.
- Select ‘Update Profile’.
- Paste text into the ‘State’ field.
- Paste text into the ‘City’ field.
Poco F4, Android 13
Only the upper portion of the pasted text displays within the ‘State’ and ‘City’ input fields, resulting in partial readability.
The entire pasted text in the ‘State’ and ‘City’ fields should be fully visible and legible.
These bugs disrupt profile management, dropdown functionality, usage tracking, and visual polish. Resolving them will bolster Fynder AI’s usability, reliability, and overall user satisfaction on Android.
