Kanban Tool is a web application for team task management and time monitoring.

The platform provides insight into the current status of work and facilitates team collaboration. It assists both small and large businesses in visualizing processes, reducing the number of tasks in progress, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the company. With Kanban Tool, users can oversee their work’s progress using valuable analytics and metrics.

Our QA team has conducted a thorough analysis of the Kanban Tool service. Here are some of the bugs that we discovered.

User can create task with due date from one year ago

Severity:

Major

Precondition:

The user has created a board.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Click the “+” button in the “To Do” section.
  2. Open the “Due date” dropdown and choose the date “2022-01-27.”
  3. Enter a name for the task.
  4. Click the “Create and close” button.
Environment:

Actual Result:

The task has been created.

Expected Result:

The user should not have the ability to create tasks with due dates from a distant past.

It’s possible to assign task to inactive user

Severity:

Major

Precondition:
  1. The user has created a board.
  2. The user has invited another user named “qwe” to their board.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Click the “Share” button in the top right corner.
  2. Select the checkmark next to the user named “qwe” and click the “Save changes” button.
  3. Open any previously created task.
  4. Click the “Assigned to” dropdown.
  5. Notice the presence of the user “1128259” in the dropdown list.

Actual Result:

Inactive user’s name is updated but still appears in the list.

Expected Result:

The names of inactive users should remain unchanged, and they should not be displayed in the list.

Upon creating text-heavy checklist item and deleting another, extensive text item becomes duplicated

Minor

Precondition:

The user has created a board.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Open any previously created task.
  2. Click the “+ suggest checklist” button.
  3. Type in some text and click “Get suggestions.”
  4. Select all the suggestions and click “Add to checklist.”
  5. Click the “+” button under the added checklist.
  6. Copy a large amount of text and paste it into the checklist.
  7. Click on any other item within the checklist.

Actual Result:

The item containing extensive text was copied.

Expected Result:

The item with extensive text should not be copied.

During the testing process, I found several bugs related to validation. I recommend thoroughly reviewing the validation logic and implementing necessary fixes to ensure the reliability of the system.
