Weekly Bug Crawl by QAwerk: Photable – GIPHY World / Gmail / Scrubbies for iOS test cases

Winter break Bug Crawl

During the winter holidays, it was really quiet in the mobile application world. Since no big software releases have been planned for this time of the year, we’ve decided to highlight some of the finest applications, regarding our field of activity.

GIPHY for iOS

Let’s start with Giphy. This application allows you to fill the space around you with colorful gifs and drawings in AR. You can record a video in the world you created or share the whole scene with your friends. It’s been ranked as the best app of the last day of 2017. This application is not that popular yet, but I bet it will be. You’ll love playing around with augmented reality! Still, our QA team has found several critical bugs that can ruin your experience when using this app.

GmaiL for iOS

And then… Hold your breath. We’ve found some bugs in a Gmail app. Gmail itself is awesome – with a free email address, Gmail also gives you an access to many other services like Calendar, Maps, Drive and Google+, ads free. Google did a great job creating a stable and secure mail service that we all appreciate here at QAwerk. But even the most successful companies can’t be insured against the bugs.

Scrubbies for iOS

And the last but not the least is Scrubbies. It’s a part of Google’s recent “appsperimental” release that showcased their newly researched technologies. Scrubbies is a simple app that you’re going to spend hours in. It lets you shoot short videos and then manipulate time in them any way you want. It’s as simple as that! But with all its simplicity, some bugs have yet found their way into this app.

Sometimes even the super minor bugs can affect the user's attitude to the product. Small projects can easily tolerate that, but when it comes to large corporations - the frustration of end users grows in a mathematical progression. Unfortunately, even in the world’s best companies have crashes in their apps.
