Bugs found in Travian Kingdoms for iOS
Travian Kingdoms is a popular strategy MMOG where players build and grow their empires in an ancient world. You can choose from three unique tribes, each with distinct units and buildings.
Players can develop their kingdoms, master the art of diplomacy, wage wars, form secret societies, and learn to manage resources efficiently. The game offers a variety of features, including hero progression, massive multiplayer worlds, and daily quests.
We at QAwerk thoroughly tested Travian Kingdoms and found several areas where the game could be improved. Here are our findings.
Connection error upon login on iPad
Severity:
Critical
Precondition:
The app is installed.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Travian.
- Try to login.
- Observe the displayed connection error on the login screen.
Environment:
Operation System: iPad 17.3.1
Actual Result:
A connection error appears on the login screen when using an iPad.
Expected Result:
The user should be successful in launching the app, or the app itself should not be marketed for use on iPads if it fails to function properly.
Multiple errors on iPad when selecting world
Severity:
Critical
Precondition:
The app is installed.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Travian.
- Try to login.
- Click on ‘New World’ and the other buttons in the main menu.
- Note the multiple errors that appear on the iPad when trying to select a world.
Environment:
Operation System: iPad 17.3.1
Actual Result:
When attempting to select a world, multiple errors are displayed on the iPad.
Expected Result:
No errors should be displayed. Instead, the user should be able to launch the game smoothly.
Valid emails are blacklisted for some reason

Precondition:
The app is installed.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Travian.
- Proceed through the tutorial.
- Reach the screen where the user should add an email.
- Use a valid email.
- Observe that some valid emails are blacklisted.
Environment:

Actual Result:
Valid email addresses are placed in the blacklist.
Expected Result:
The game should accept valid email addresses.
Localization cannot be changed and is set automatically based on region

Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Travian.
- Proceed through the tutorial.
- Reach the main menu.
- Browse through the menu.
- Notice that localization cannot be changed and is set automatically based on the region.

Actual Result:
The localization cannot be changed and is set automatically based on the region.
Expected Result:
The user should be able to change the language setting of the app irrespective of their region.
‘Location Resources’ button has no functionality during tutorial

Precondition:
The app is installed.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Travian.
- Proceed through the tutorial.
- Click on the ‘Location Resources’ button through the tutorial.
- Notice that the ‘Location Resources’ button has no functionality.
Environment:

Actual Result:
The ‘Location Resources’ button has no functionality during the tutorial.
Expected Result:
The button should be disabled if it has no functionality during the tutorial.
One soldier cannot be trained during tutorial as shown in guide

Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Travian.
- Proceed through the tutorial until the phase where soldiers should be trained.
- Review the guide.
- Move the quantity to max and min.
- Observe that one soldier cannot be trained during the tutorial as indicated in the guide.

Actual Result:
One soldier cannot be trained during the tutorial as displayed in the guide.
Expected Result:
The user should be able to train the same quantity of soldiers as the guide illustrates.
I found several critical and major bugs that significantly impact the gameplay experience. Unfortunately, the game is currently unplayable on iPad devices. Even on iPhones, users may encounter various issues that require significant time and effort to resolve before they can start playing.
