Bugs found in Membrain SaaS

Membrain is a B2B growth platform designed to help companies structure their sales processes, guide sales teams, and offer insights into performance. It aims to empower businesses to focus on consistent growth by optimizing their sales strategies.
Membrain offers a suite of features to support various aspects of B2B sales. These include tools for sales engagement, pipeline management, account growth, and sales team development. It also facilitates sales coaching by providing relevant information and tools and directly integrating training materials and sales collateral into the sales process.
At QAwerk, we thoroughly tested Membrain and identified several bugs that could affect user experience. We hope our findings will be helpful to the Membrain team in improving their platform.
Checkbox for 'Other Users \ Test User' fails to visually reflect unchecked status in access selection
Critical
A user assigned with the role ‘Test User’ is logged in.
- Navigate to the ‘Elevate Settings’ tab.
- Open the ‘Activity Type’ dropdown menu.
- Click the ‘+ Activity Type’ button to add a new Activity Type.
- Open the ‘Selectable By’ dropdown menu.
- Uncheck the ‘Everyone’ checkbox.
- Tick the ‘Coach’ checkbox.
- Try unchecking the checkbox for ‘Other Users \ Test User’.
Operating System: Windows 10
Browser: Chrome 127.0.6533.89, Firefox 128.0.3, Edge 127.0.2651.86
Despite attempting to uncheck it, the checkbox for ‘Other Users \ Test User’ continues to appear as though it is checked.
After unchecking the checkbox for ‘Other Users \ Test User’, it should visually indicate its unchecked status.
Error encountered when adding new currency
Major
- Navigate to ‘System Setup’, then ‘Currencies’.
- Click on the ‘+ New’ button to initiate the addition of a new currency.
- Input a currency name (for instance, “Test Currency”).
- Insert a currency code (for instance, “TES”).
- Set the exchange rate to an extremely high value (for example, 1000000000000).
- View the display of the example value (expectedly, “0.01 dollars for 100”).
- Click the ‘Save’ button.
Operating System: Windows 10
Browser: Chrome 127.0.6533.89, Firefox 128.0.3, Edge 127.0.2651.86
Two issues were observed:
– The calculation of the example exchange value appears incorrect, displaying 0.01 dollars for 100.
– On clicking the ‘Save’ button, an error occurred.
The system should:
– Accurately calculate and display the exchange value based on the provided exchange rate.
– Maximize a successful save of the new currency input without triggering any errors.
Persisting profile picture in lower menu after deletion
Minor
The user should be logged in and have already uploaded a profile picture.
- Place the cursor over the profile icon in the lower menu area.
- Click on the ‘My Settings’ button.
- Hover the cursor over the profile icon under ‘Settings’.
- Click on the delete (X) button to remove the profile image.
- Upon receipt of the successful deletion message, navigate to the ‘Elevate’ tab.
Operating System: Windows 10
Browser: Chrome 127.0.6533.89, Firefox 128.0.3, Edge 127.0.2651.86
The profile picture from the ‘Settings’ section is successfully removed. The old profile image, however, remains on display in the lower menu area. Without a page refresh, the profile image is not updated to an empty icon.
Once the profile image is deleted, the lower menu area should instantly reflect this by displaying an empty profile icon, eliminating the need for a page refresh.
Failure of profile picture to display instantly in lower menu area post upload
Minor
The user has logged in.
- Hover over the profile icon within the lower menu area.
- Click on the ‘My Settings’ button.
- Click on the blank user profile icon.
- Choose an image for upload.
- Proceed to the ‘Elevate’ tab after receiving the success message.
Operating System: Windows 10
Browser: Chrome 127.0.6533.89, Firefox 128.0.3, Edge 127.0.2651.86
The newly uploaded profile image is displayed correctly within the ‘Settings’ section. However, the lower menu area retains an empty profile icon. The profile image appears in the lower menu only after refreshing the page.
The uploaded profile image should display instantly in the lower menu area without necessitating a page refresh.
During testing of the Membrain SaaS, I identified four user interface bugs that caused incorrect displays of certain elements. I recommend focusing more on functional and UI testing to prevent similar issues in the future.
