Bugs found in Butter Royale for iOS
Butter Royale is a battle royale online multiplayer game exclusive to Apple Arcade. It is similar to the games with the last-man-standing ultimate goal. The gameplay features cartoonish characters that battle with food-based weapons such as bread loaf clubs, baguette rockets, or mayo guns. The players are not provided with a complicated plot behind this combat – the characters simply move and shoot, blasting each other with food with great enthusiasm.
We should mention that the game is nonviolent: it’s less battleground, more food fight. Allegedly, the goal was to boil the genre down to its essentials so that virtually anyone could pick it up and play.

The app freezes due to the broadcast error

- Launch the Butter Royale application.
- Tap the Recording button > Live Broadcast > Start.
- Choose the YouTube app from the list > OK.

The user is able to continue browsing the app.

- Launch the Butter Royale application.
- Start a battle > Wait until the area shrinking starts.
- Open the map > Check the map edges.

The marked area is only partially yellow.
Expected Result:
The whole marked area except for the user’s location is yellow.
The user doesn’t get an error message

- Launch the Butter Royale application.
- Tap the “Squad” top button.
- Enter your squad code in the “Enter Squad Code” input > Join.

Actual Result:
The user is redirected to the Home page.
Expected Result:
The user gets the “Invalid squad code” message.
Possible to change the same language many times in a row

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch the Butter Royale application.
- Tap the Settings gear > Language.
- Choose any language (English in this case) > Tap OK.
- Open the Settings again > Tap English > OK.

Previously set language is not disabled. The checkmark near the language is missing.
Expected Result:
The chosen language is disabled. The checkmark is displayed.
Butter Royale is an absolutely fantastic royale battle game. It has a slick design and a good multiplayer for 32 gamers. To join the game, a user needs to have an Apple Arcade account. For users to get the promised rich gaming experience, the Butter Royale bugs should be eliminated. Namely, some functional, control, and UI/UX errors that I’ve spotted during testing.
